With her coy, breathy vocals and confessional folk-pop chansons, Mélanie Pain will seduce you as surely as she did with band Nouvelle Vague at sell-out shows during the 2008 New Zealand International Arts Festival.
French pop meets Americana in the ‘naughty but nice’ singer’s debut album, My Name, which incorporates personal reflections and influences including Francoise Hardy, Nick Cave, Nancy Sinatra and Leonard Cohen.
Resistance is futile, when it comes to this chanteuse.
Melanie Pain will perform in the Pacific Blue Note (Wellington Town Hall) as part of the Wellington Jazz Festival.
