Prodigiously gifted and endlessly inventive, Brad Mehldau is one of the great jazz pianists.

Pat Metheny declared him to be “the most exciting pianist to come along since Herbie Hancock”, and in 2006 he was honoured with a Miles Davis Award.

With Mehldau, jazz standards sit alongside pop classics from the likes of Paul Simon, Radiohead and Oasis. The Trio’s latest release Brad Mehldau Trio: Live received a 2009 Grammy Award nomination.

“Inside the music of Brad Mehldau is a conflict among rock, jazz and classical personalities. Ultimately, though, the pianist has figured a way to integrate all three seamlessly” - The Philadelphia Enquirer

The Brad Mehldau Trio will perform in the Pacific Blue Note (Wellington Town Hall) as part of the Wellington Jazz Festival.
