This is the 42nd year for this competition. Three Finalists compete for the following prize money. Ist $7,000, 2nd $3000 3rd $1500.March 14th Christchurch Town Hall. 7.30pm
This comes after preliminary and semi Final rounds held in December 2008.
The finalists:
John- Paul Muir ( Auckland) Piano Concerto in G by Ravel
Jason Bae( Auckland) Piano Concerto No2 in F minor Chopin.
Joong-Han Jung ( Auckland) Piano Concerto No 4 in G major. Beethoven

They are accompanied by the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. Conductor, Sir William Southgate.

A piece with a flower theme will be played while the adjudicators make their decision .
Awards for the Scarecrow Competition will be made at interval.
Peoples Choice. The audience will also have a chance to vote for the winner . There will be a special Audience prize of $200.
