Alluring, glittering, bewitching! Vienna Nights feature dazzling opera arias, duets, overtures and orchestral interludes.
Works to be performed include Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro Overture, Puccini’s Nessun Dorma – made famous by Pavarotti – Suppé’s Light Cavalry Overture and Rossini’s Une voce poco fa, from the opera The Barber of Seville. And much, much more…
Manukau Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Uwe Grodd, is joined by narrator Raymond Hawthorne, who will tell the stories depicted in the arias sung by the beautiful Italian soprano Lilia Carpinelli, now resident in New Zealand and already performing regularly all over the country, and rising star tenor Derek Hill.
