“Nature is a discipline of the understanding in intellectual truths...dealing with sensible objects is a constant exercise in the necessary lessons of difference, of likeness, of order, of being and seeming...of combination to one end of manifold forces.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1836
BFA(Hons) students Jiaxin Zhang and Geoffrey H Short explore the tension between the natural and unnatural. Short’s photographs investigate the natural order to be found in unnatural events, whilst through making forms inspired by nature, Zhang creates a new taxonomic order of manufactured flora.
Gallery hours: 11am-4pm, Thursday - Saturday
