It’s been a long, long, too long a wait but finally Brian Setzer, Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker will be back down under on their Farewell World Tour.

Formed in 1979 the Stray Cats took the world by storm with their infectious rockabilly musical stylings and frenetic live shows.

Garnering fans in England helped them achieve chart topping success there first, with the rest of the world quickly following suit and turning on to the greatest rockabilly act of all time.

Having created their own version of the standard rockabilly sound by blending Brian’s jazz and swing sensibilities with the band’s love of the 70’s UK punk sound, the Stray Cats have built up a devoted following and maintained an enviable live reputation throughout their 30 year career.

With Lee Rocker slapping the double bass, Slim Jim pounding rhythm on little more than a bass drum, snare & couple of cymbals and Setzer melding jazz, swing and rockabilly riffs in a majestic display of fretboard mastery, Stray Cats have everything that makes live music great.

Who knew such a stripped back stage set up could bring forth such a monster rock and roll sound?

Currently ripping it up across Europe, the Stray Cats have rocked the world and are back to rock Australia and New Zealand for one last time on the Stray Cats Farewell Tour.

Celebrating their longevity, loyalty and love . . . the Stray Cats promise to deliver something special.

Tickets on sale Friday 10 October.

    Check check.
    Heck...
    Most all the while
    I've slow road style.
    Never in no hurry,
    Seldon do I scurry
"cept if'n the strays hit town,
I'm all ears wide open, late night low life
    casing and sloping
traffic stop hoping, tix to be found.

Be confident - look people in the eye, keep your shoulders up and your chin up as well. Then people will recognise you for who you are, not some meek puss.

I'd like to strut down to the show in my brothel creepers and duck tale haircut. I have loved the Stray Cats for years, I'm a huge fan as is my brother who plays bass in a band and they cover Stray Cat Strut and it grooves.

i'd like to strut in style.. like being "Sexy and Seventeen" all over again...that song made me go out and buy a leopard print top, fishnet stockings and a pair of cerise high heeled ankle boots ...and I went out and boogied till the sun came up! I have that top in a drawer now, I have the cassette tape still, surprised it survived and I boogie a little slower but to the Cds and DVDs..woo hoo!

If you've seen the oldie (but a goodie) Staying Alive, last scene with Mr Man, John Travolta you'll know all about the Strut! Personally I feel a million dollars just by doing my hair - straightening this afro takes some time and effort but well worth all the fuss. I am transformed from dowdy housewife into club chick (fit to disco with Mr Man) in just one simple treatment.

Life's a catwalk and as far as i'm concerned you've got to put your best foot foward every second of everyday - hold your head up, put your shoulders back and be sure of yourself - well at least thats how I strut :)
