Solos is the New Zealand debut of European dance icon Susanne Linke; a unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s great contemporary artists. A pioneer of German dance theatre and one of Germany’s most influential dance icons, Linke is an extraordinary dancer and choreographer who has danced with Mary Wigman, Pina Bausch, Limon Dance Company, and Paris Opera and accumulated numerous accolades. In Auckland for just two nights, Susanne Linke and guest dancers, Urs Dietrich and Mareike Franz present an overview of her artistic repertoire through four chosen solo works, including the legendary choreography ‘Im Bade Wannen,’ in which the bathtub becomes an object of fantasies, fears and desires. This is a performance not to be missed by anyone who appreciates superb contemporary dance.

Auckland Festival 2009 brings the city alive next March with a dazzling programme of more than 200 arts and entertainment events, packed into eighteen exciting days. The biennial festival is a feast of theatre, dance, concerts, cabaret, exhibitions, family events and more, featuring some of the finest national and international artists and companies.
