Homofringe is a night celebrating of gay and lesbian performance and music; hosted by Epaulette and The Filthiest People Alive...

The evening features a number of established Auckland bands notorious for creating a riotous party vibe and all featuring out gay and lesbian performers in their lineups. Last seen at dawn in the laneways of Kings X after Mardi Gras, S>T>U>D (Sonic Transgender Underground DiscoGansgster) makes a rare appearance. Also performing is Auckland band Prince Diana featuring style maven and Express contributor Shaun Thomas McGill aka DJ Babes Babes Babes (SOHOMO/Hero) playing a selection of electro Torch Songs. Completing the trilogy is Wellington born band Charlie ASH who are preparing to tour Europe in May. Their blend of rock pop electro and disco have won them ardent fans up and down NZ and the world; with shows at Rhythm and Vines, Canaan Downs, Vodafone NZ Music Awards and upcoming shows for Wellington Beer Festival and Summerset to name a few, Charlie ASH always put on a radcore show thanks to flamboyant frontwoman Rosie Riggir (niece of Patsy) and with dirty bass provided by Mailee Mathews of AltTV and Fly My Pretties fame...www.myspace.com/charlieash

Joining them will be DJ's Babes Babes Babes (SoHomo, Chelsea Boys & Hero) and Heads Will Roll (Time To Get Dumb)

The night will be also feature selection of music video clips from NZ gay and lesbian musicians and bands. Plus screening excerpts from the upcoming SOHOMO short film clip 'Where is Homo' and several surprise shows from some of Aucklands weird and wonderful performers.

Epaulette is famed for running... SOHOMO - "The club night that needs no introduction," OKOK - Modular Record's parties, and touring gay and lesbian friendly artists. The Filthiest People Alive is a project that aims to throw a little spice into local gay and lesbian events... Both promoters decided to throw a party as an opportunity to showcase upcoming bands with gay and lesbian members and provide an alternative party for Aucklands more discerning scenesters...
