This exhibition is part of the Auckland Photography Festival. The retrospective exhibition 'All In The Camera' covers Max Thomson's thirty plus years in the picture business. There are images from the rock/folk group Jethro Tull to local punks, The Scavengers, work from his personal portfolio and out-takes from national ad campaigns. Although Max directed television commercials in the late eighties and through the nineties, he never stopped shooting for his fashion clients. Also in the eighties, and along with Murray Cammick and Ngila Dickson, Max started Cha Cha magazine as a vehicle for fashion designers and photographers to show their work. His clients included Scotties, Columbine, American Express, Levis, Max Factor, Doc Marten's, Moontide, Sunsilk, Wella, Qantas, and Adrienne Winkelmann. Max Thomson's magazine editorial work was included in: Fashion Quarterly, Rolling Stone, Elle and More Magazine amongst others. You may be surprised by who you see!
