Conductor: Radoslaw Szulc
Soloist: Bella Hristova

An evening of music capturing Europe’s many colours, from the sinister Russian witches’ sabbath in Night on Bare Mountain, to the proud awakening of the Finns in Finlandia and the brilliant evocation of Spain in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol. These pieces frame the quintessential romantic concerto, Violin Concerto No. 1 by Max Bruch. One of the favourite pieces of past masters such as Menuhin and Heifetz it is also a wonderful showpiece for a young violinist, and who better to share it with us than Bella Hristova, winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2007, and star of a hugely popular national tour in 2008.

SIBELIUS: Finlandia
BRUCH: Violin Concerto No. 1
Interval
RIMSKY-KORSAKOV: Capriccio Espagnol
MUSSORGSKY: Night on Bare Mountain
BRAHMS: Hungarian Dances No. 1,2 and 5

This event could possibly sell out, tickets are still available and should be on the night but it will be a packed house.

Stellar violinist Bella Hristova (winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition 2007) in a night of thrilling masterpieces.

    Don't miss it!!!
