Mike Booth – Pete France Quintet
Mike Booth trumpeted his presence on countless Pop, Funk, Classical, Salsa and Jazz gigs and recordings all the way from Wellington in the early 70’s to Auckland in the 80’s, and now after nearly 20 years in the Netherlands playing with the Dutch Pop band de Dijk plus numerous jazz gigs, is once again back in Auckland.
Included in tonight’s program, Mike pays tribute to composer/arranger extraordinaire Thad Jones, presenting a selection of his tunes and some of the standards that Thad liked to play
In addition to Mike on trumpet and flugelhorn, the group will feature: Pete France – tenor sax, Young Um – piano, Craig Williams – bass, Barry Young – drums
