It is run by the RCNZ (Rabbit Council of New Zealand) whose main purpose is to "assist and extend the exhibition of pure bred rabbits" which also supports a championship scheme.
Whilst supporting the improvement of the standard of pure bred rabbits, it also supports and encourages the Juvenile section , which includes pet rabbits of various sizes and shapes!
The "Open " show allows non RCNZ members to enter exhibits into the show and we look forward to seeing what pet rabbits there are in Northland.
There are no recognised Rabbit Clubs in Northland, so this will be an ideal time for the public to show their interest and support.
We do however ask that anyone who has been in contact with the Rabbit Calici Virus (RCD) within 110 days of the show to please stay away, to minimise the risk of infecting show and breeding stock.
There will be a Guinea Pig (Cavy) display and possibly a Cavy pet show.
The show will be held at the Cafler Suite,Forum North, Rust Avenue, Whangarei on 4th of JULY 2009
Open to the public from 10.30a.m. untill 4.00 pm.
A gold coin entrance donation would be appreciated towards the costs of running the show.
It will be run by the Rabbit Council of New Zealand.
The judge will be the RCNZ president" Stuart Cuthell (Auckland)
