House of Shem

House Of Shem are ready and on fire to record there 2nd album, they want to share their beautiful debut album " Keep Rising", favourite reggae classics & songs from the 2nd album to Aotearoa before they hit the Studio.

Anyone that has been to a House of Shem gig no what the experience is! it is uplifting, jamming, spiritual & positive. House of Shem has become a house hold name from such Radio & TV hits like " Keep Rising", "Thinking about you" & "What about the Children". They have gained a following from Children up to the Elderly which shows the clean versatility of this bands Music, message and goodwill.

Members of the band include Nz reggae ambassador Carl Perkins, who was a original member of HERBS. 12 Tribes of Israel & Forming member of his band MANA who toured with many of the reggae greats including Maxi Priest, The Wailers, Toots & The Maytals to name a few. Carl co wrote such classics as "Long Ago", "Nuclear Waste", "Sensitive to a smile", "Only Jah Know" and many more.

Joining him up centre stage are his two sons Te Omeka & Isaiah who both play keyboards and sing lead vocals. Te Omeka has been playing since a young age with his father joining him on stage on percussions and has previously done 2 Australian nationwide tours playing keyboards for Nz Reggae band "Cornerstone Roots", he has also produced hit remixes for "The Blackseeds" song “Black sunrise". Isaiah provides a youthful zeal and unique vocal to House of Shem, he has proved to be one of NZ’s best Reggae keyboardists and at the age of 21 he has only just begun.

The rhythm section comprises of Kaya Webster(T.T.I, Dave Levi band) on drums, Francis Harawira(Che Fu, T.T.I Band) on Bass, Chris Nielson(Billy T James) on Saxophone, Roy Venkataraman(The Wailers) on Lead guitar & R & B hip-hop producer artists John Chong Nee on keyboards and backing vocals.

House of Shem has got interest for tours in Hawaii, United States, Australia & Europe.
