The National Youth Brass Band is celebrating 50 years since the first band was formed in 1959. To celebrate they are performing three concerts nationally (Christchurch, Wellington & Auckland). The Christchurch concert is a farewell concert as the band departs on Sunday 19 July for Tokyo to appear at the 2009 Japan International Youth Musicale in Shizuoka City. The Musical Director is Mr Kevin Moseley of Marlborough and our Guest Soloist is New Zealands world renown Riki McDonnell on Euphonium. The music will feature the best the band has played during Kevin Moseley's tenure and our guest soloist on Euphonium.
