4 Frames: Women film makers in Aotearoa (1990) opens this selection of short films from New Zealand women film makers: producer, director Shereen Maloney, Whale Rider director Niki Caro, animator, artist Bronwyn Sprague, and Julie Benjamin, film historian and documentary maker.
Irene 59 (1983) is a portrait study of film maker Shereen Maloney's mother Irene.
Sinistre (1989 - PG) is a black comedy about family madness, by director Niki Caro.
Scenes from the Front (1990) an animated film by Bronwyn Sprague parodying the television portrayal of world events.
In Direction ... Margaret Thomson (1993) one of New Zealand's earliest women film directors discusses her work with the New Zealand National Film Unit and describes the attitudes towards women in the film industry.
