Get down with Mojo Funk Orchestra and UberCat.
Party with us as we launch the festival with two of Nelson’s favourite dance bands. Mojo Funk Orchestra is an eight-piece dance band specialising in the true funk styles of the ‘60s and ‘70s, with frontman Dan Kendrick channeling James Brown! Mojo features Pete Rainey and Dave Bowater on brass; Clive Garlick, Rhys Clarke and Richard Kendrick in the rhythm section; with Liz Kendrick and More FM’s Katrina Smith adding vocals to energetic performances that have won the hearts (and feet) of audiences in the top of the south since 2002.
UberCat brings four of Nelson’s most respected musicians into a dynamic new collaboration. Keyboardist Liam Ryan, drummer Chris Pierson, with Brett Holland and Andrew ‘Smiley’ Shellock sharing guitar and bass, play a mix of blues, funk and RnB.
