Nelson Symphony Orchestra & James Tennant - Monumental Masterpieces by Schubert and Dvorak.

The Nelson Symphony Orchestra has been making music in the Nelson region for over 40 years. Under the baton of Kenneth Young, the orchestra will perform Schubert’s poignantly beautiful Unfinished Symphony and Dvorak’s popular and masterful Cello Concerto, with soloist James Tennant.

Kenneth Young is one of New Zealand’s leading conductors and is a passionate and skilled interpreter of the Romantic and 20th Century repertoire, who has worked extensively in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Great Britain.

American cellist James Tennant teaches music at Waikato University, is a regular concerto soloist, the cellist with the Ogden Trio and the Tennant-Austin Duo, and is a core member of The New Zealand Chamber Soloists.

‘We were washed over by amazing and delectable sounds…a night of entrancement.’ Nelson Mail
