On a flying visit from the USA and still buzzing from her six week residency in Marnay sur Seine, the Champagne region of France, Gina Matchitt will present a talk about her work in Plastic Maori and her new work which draws on her time in France.
Gina says “Plastic Maori has in the past been a derogatory term as in someone who tries too hard to be a Maori, but may not be authentic enough. Everyone has a different experience of what it means to be Maori”.
