Following his sell out exhibition last year, Martin Horspool as been assembling another stunning array of robots, ready for what promises to be another popular show.

Return Of Retrobots will be a display of 30 + new creations of all sizes and character. Each robot is bolted together from disused household items, rescued from the smelter, and given another life as individual components making up each unique robot.

A passion for retro design drives Martin to search and hoard precious metals, which for him are 50’s chrome and 60’s aluminium. He spends hours amongst his stockpile of discarded paraphernalia, creating a nostalgic metal army, ready to take over the Letham Gallery from July 3rd.

Each robot has its own character, which is important to Martin, who describes them as “funky, quirky, sinister or just plain goofy. All are made of quality old metal and vintage parts, definitely not made in China.”
