Summer BluesFest, featuring Brilleaux and Tipi Elkington.

Stars of the Whangarei Jazz & Blues Festival return to Salut Bar & Brasserie for one high energy show!

Brilleaux play hard driving British-style rhythm and blues in the style of bands such as Dr Feelgood and Wilko Johnson, and earlier exponents of the genre such as The Pretty Things and early Rolling Stones. A typical set by "Brilleaux" consists of a mixture of R & B classics and exciting original material that these masters of rhythm and blues have been performing at festivals around the country since 1999.

Tipi Elkington is the former front man of legendary Texan-style blues bands Hard to Handle and the Hipshooters.

The combination of a superb, hard driving rhythm section, torn-from-the-heart vocals and staggering guitar playing make the Tipi Elkington Band not just another power blues-rock trio, but simply the best of their kind. Winner of 2 Blues Awards in Australia - best band and best original song!

Limited Tickets available from Salut and Musicor (Cameron Street Mall, Whangarei City)
