Come and check out one of Aotearoa's premier reggae bands 'House of Shem' performing for one show only at the Mangawhai Tavern.

House of Shem released there debut album "Keep Rising" in May 08, and have toured extensively throughout NZ to sold out shows. The band consists of Carl Perkins an original member of NZ Legends HERBS, he co wrote such classics as "Long Ago", "Nuclear Waste" and more. Also features Roy Venkataraman, lead guitarist for Bob Marleys band the Wailers.

The House of Shem live experience is an unforgettable occasion a rare mixture of power and beauty. Whether you are Rasta or raver, this bands incredible tightness, heavenly harmonies, conscious lyrics and blend of traditional and contemporary reggae styles will leave you spellbound.

Supporting for the night is "Silva & The Battlesound"

Silva (a.k.a Tanya Dyer) hails from central Auckland where she grew up on the streets of Mt Roskill and Grey Lynn. Her talented and unique style is inspired by her father’s Jamaican roots and her love for hip hop beats and soul sounding grooves.

This “up n coming” artist is all about conscious music (music with a positive message). With much of her childhood years being spent with the Twelve Tribes of Israel New Zealand, her conscious lyrics and positive demeanour are definitely something to be watching out for.

Don’t miss out tickets will sell fast.
