The Dodos

Solid Entertainment is pleased to present for the first time in New Zealand the dodos, a little band from San Francisco with a colossal sound. The Dodos are country guitarist Meric Long, metal drummer Logan Kroeber and Joe Haener from Gris Gris playing vibes, toy piano and percussion, Meric Long the lead singer and guitarist with a 3 pronged vocal mix of country, folk and pure pop melodies layers intricate guitar picking loops with a rhythmic intensity seldom seen but perfectly matched to the west African beats and stomps of drummer Logan Kroeber’s rhythmic onslaught!

An energetic show is guaranteed with the swirling landscapes of noise including a Vibraphone a trombone and maybe even the odd tin can! The dodos are playing four New Zealand shows before continuing their world tour be sure not to miss this unique and memorable band whose melodies will remain with you long after the show.

The dodos play early January 2009 at Al’s Bar Christchurch Thursday 8 January, The San Francisco Bath House in Wellington Friday 9 January, The Kings Arms in Auckland Saturday 10 January, with their final NZ show at the beautiful Leigh Sawmill Café Sunday 11 January.
