APO Heads to Waiheke with VineSongs

The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra joins four sensational New Zealand singers and heads to Waiheke Island in January for a special concert in the gorgeous Cable Bay Vineyards.

Coast FM, Easy Mix 98.2FM and Fullers present VineSongs, starring Peter Urlich, Shane Cortese, Helen Medlyn and Elizabeth Marvelly with the APO, at Cable Bay Vineyards on Saturday 31 January.

VineSongs features a programme of contemporary music reflecting the diverse styles of the four singers. Songstress Helen Medlyn, who turns her voice to everything from cabaret to opera, is a regular APO guest, while Shane Cortese and young pop-classical singer Elizabeth Marvelly have also performed with the orchestra, but for Peter Urlich (Th’Dudes), this concert marks his debut with the APO. The concert will be hosted by radio personality and Dancing With The Stars judge Alison Leonard, reuniting her with DWTS contestants Shane and Peter.

“Over the past few years, the APO has performed with a range of contemporary singers and musicians including Dave Dobbyn and Little Bushman,” says APO chief executive Barbara Glaser. “And we’re looking forward to being the ‘backing band’ for these four singers.

“VineSongs is all about taking time out to enjoy a summer evening in a stunning setting and enjoy great music.”
