The best way to spend a summers day has to be keeping it simple. A bbq, some good old kiwi music (a bit of new school mixed in with a few classics of course), a few beers, some sun and the definitly a spot down by the beach. Its even better if it can be spent with freinds and whanau. Call it cliche if you will but i say its a perfect recipe for a brilliant summer day

Well where do I start! Waking up in the morning and pulling the curtains to find clear blue sky and warm air blowing through the double doors. Getting together a group of your closest friends and making plans to head to the beach or Bethals Lake. Packing your chili bin with a lot of wine and beer, yummy nibbles, wicked summer sounds and eventually chilling out, laughing, swimming and just having an all round wicked day with your mates! Bliss!!!! ;o)

My favourite way to spend a summer day would definitely be waking up early and enjoying the fruits of summer for breakfast- watermelon strawberries pineapple.. before throwing on a sweet as summer dress, grabbing my friends and going to a summer event and dancing away in the sun. How can you not love summer!?

My favourite way isn't really possible anymore because the location has had houses built on it but my favourite way to spend a summer's day is wearing a big floppy straw hat (I can definitely still do that though) and picking asparagus with my grandad down the road from his house.

sitting on Cheltenham beach under a huge Pohutukawa tree, drinking a good bottle of cold Pinot Gris, with a good book, looking out to Rangitoto, nothing beats it on a hot summers day!

Absolutely NOTHING beats a day at my bach! its on lake Rotoiti and is my favourite place in the world! i love spending hot summer days and nights out there with the whauns and a couple of mates, skiing, biscuiting, consuming my body weight worth of food from the barby then heading to the hot pools for a relaxing dip to recover from a full day of relaxing! Good music, good food, good company, good times good times!

the sound of cicada's as you drive with the windows down, the sun beating in thru the windows, salmonella dub playing on the radio, stopping to buy an ice cream at that run down looking dairy with the faded tip top sign, then sitting down on the sand listening to the kids splashing in the water, laughter, screaming, hmmm the smell of the bbq down the far end of the beach, the lil kid on the wharf with his grandfather fishing....ice cream dribbling down your chin, the pohutukawa trees in full bloom...back to the car and back to do it again tomorrow....

Watching the sunrise!!! Going all out outdoors recreation hard!!! A few drinks and a barby with the friends. A day spent with the sun tan oil on!!! A bita favourite music playing through the day

There's nothing better than when you rise and shine draw back those curtains and the sunshine rays seep through your room! That is when you rally your friends and family and to head to the beach. (A different beach each time of course (new faces, new challenges and a completly different environment from the last beach). Pack your picnic basket with all the summer bbq treats along with the fishing rods (you never know what you may catch) and other essentials into the car and off to the sweet smell of summer fun.

Getting up in the morning and going for a run as the sun comes up.. then as the day gets hotter, lying on the beach for the whole afternoon.. meet friends for coffee or icecream along the way.. then going for a walk after dinner as the sun sets.......

My favourite way to spend a summers day...
Wake up with the sun shining through the blinds into my room, music playin on low from the radio thats been left on from the night before.. Rolling over to check my phone, getting a good morning txt from my bf and lying in bed for a few extra minutes as the sun continues to shine through and warm up the bottom of my bed.
Finally deciding to get up, get dressed in perfect summer clothes- lil short shorts and a cute singlet, pulling up the blinds and standing there feeling the warmth of the sun rush through my body, walking outside to find that somebodys already made me breakfast - bacon and eggs mmmmm....
Head down to the beach where all the locals are hanging out to meet my bf and a few mates, stripping down into just my new bikini that i bought especially for summer, and while applying baby oil onto me (this is bad haha) i can feel the water spritz from the fountain where all the kids play in. Decide to do a bit of a kayak and hire some out. On goes the life jacket and we start paddling out. When we decide its far enough, we unzip the life jackets just enough to lay in the sun and tan for a bit, just steadily floating in the ocean, before heading back onto shore.
Little kiddies screaming and eating icecreams makes us hungry so we head back home and start a bbq. Everybody gets on their phones and invites everybody over. BYO- everybodys got their drinks, cosmos, and can't forget the beer. Its so hot, everybodys having a good time, chilling n laxn out in the backyard, musics playing, everyones cracking jokes and laughing. The sun definitely puts everybody in a happy mood. I LOVE SUMMER!!!!! xxxx

My favourite way to spend a summers day is to lax out at the beach, play a bit of volleyball, then end the day with a drinks and a bbq on the neighbours deck :D

Wake up in Tutakata to a cloudless blue sky with tea and toast on the deck......then down to the marina to get kitted up for a days diving out at the Poor Knights.....watch the shore line disappear in the wake of a fast dive boat.....dive in crystal clear water with coral lit up by the sun.....fin slowly through a shaol of Blue Mao Mao coming at me through the famous arch.....a sheer rock face to my right and left.....surface inside the crystal dome and breathe from the air pocket under water......lie out on the upper deck, warm up in the sun enjoying the trip back and soaking up the beauty of the moment....determined not to leave it so long until the next time. :)

My Fav summers day...
Wake up!nice day!Chuk on a bikini,my fav boardies and a singlet.Ring my brother and tell him to help me round up the rest of the siblings and mates to meet at my place.Pack sum towells,meat,drinks and the bbq.Load the cars up with every1 and everything.Stop at King Dicks for a lazy couple of boxes and the whole posse cruises to PIHA BEACH!!Hav a swim,barby,play some hacky,touch,sand ball fights,lazy lil drink.Pack the cars up again and head home for a wicked drink,sounds and bonfire lol..Thats my favourite way to spend a summers day in the summer holidays b4 uni and work starts back!!YEAH!!:)

My Favorite way to spend a summers day...........
Wake up next to my gorgeous boyfriend to the noise of cecators and birds..... turning on some great sounds then making breakfast of fresh orange juice, strawberries and other fruits with yoghurt (Im a vegetarian haha) and some kind of meat for my BF eating breakfast in our robes...then doing a few quick jobs around the house before meeting up with good friends and family at the beach for a picnic lunch and a swim....making sandcastles with my nephews and all the other kids that join in, making the biggest sandcastle ever! before we all run into it until it collapses....continuing to spend the sunny afternoon with some icy cold beer, heaps of food and feeling completely relaxed with nowhere else to be...before eventually going home and having a barbeque dinner with neighbours, friends, family and eating and drinking playing games......LAUGHING loads while listening to great music......
In summary - the perfect summers day is more for me about WHO I am with than WHAT I am doing
so bring on summer and bring on SUMMADAYZE!!!!! :)

My fav way to spend a summers day - is by making it Christmas day, spending all that time with the loved ones, looking after my little cousins, hanging out with the relatives, going from place to place having a differrent time with each family, wether its mums, dads, step family, partners! Its all fun, and its all very special! Ending the night with friends, out of your home city starting off on the way to New Years is my fav way to end my perfect summer day! :)

My favourite way to spend a summer day is camping by the beach with good music, good friends, good food, good wine and beer! Add a few games of touch or frisbee, and a bit of a swim/water fight and you've got a pretty wicked day.
