The Liquorland New Zealand Beer Festival is excited to add a Wellington date in 2009, now in its third year the Festival has gone from strength to strength. Each year the uniquely Kiwi mix of Beer, Food, Music and Summer creates an unforgettable atmosphere for Good Times with Great Mates.

Drink
Over 60 beers from more than 20 breweries will be represented at the festival, featuring a wide range of New Zealand beers, with a few notable overseas visitors.

Eat
We’re blessed with an amazing range of quality food to compliment beer tasting, from traditional New Zealand fare to European, Asian and Middle Eastern.

Listen
We’ve got an eclectic line-up of great summer sounds, from a chilled vibe during the day to energetic acts you’ll know the words to later on . . .

The Tutts
Forming in early 2006, The Tutts burst upon the scene with an army of synth-laced rock songs that made you dance in dark clubs where the smoke poured through the crowd and the strobe light made the dancefloor appear as if the puppeteer above had gone mad.

Recloose Live Band
Recloose cut his musical teeth in Detroit in the mid-90s alongside techno luminary Carl Craig. After releasing his debut album ‘Cardiology’ to worldwide acclaim, Recloose relocated to New Zealand to explore new musical and social horizons, releasing albums ‘Hiatus On The Horizon’ and ‘Perfect Timing’, the latter taking away this years Tui for Best Dance/Electronica Album.
The Recloose Live Band is an eight-headed octopus which flows from a collective of New Zealand’s most inspired and respected musicians, cooking up a gumbo of tech-funk and Pacific-flavoured soul with splashes of jazz improvisation.

Charlie ASH
Charlie ASH are sexy indie-electro punk-funk knockouts who are set to be huge this summer. This fun four-piece have been playing together since 2005 and have supported several international headline acts including New Young Pony Club and OKGO.
Their new single “Come Back Lover” will be on everyone’s radio this summer so watch out for Charlie ASH’s electric infectious party vibes!

SJD
In the studio, SJD is essentially one man, Sean James Donnelly, from Auckland. His recorded work combines detailed electronic production work with folk and rock songwriting traditions. Live, there is a full SJD band who play the music live in a more traditional rock format.
SJD’s debut albums ‘3’ and ‘Lost Soul Music’ established himself as a unique artist on New Zealand’s cultural landscape. Amongst the top selling independent albums of the year ‘Lost Soul Music’ saw Sean nominated for a veritable swag of b–Net Awards, and heralded the emergence of a major songwriting and production talent.
