Pacific Entertainment presents multi-Grammy awarded jazz, soul and R&B legend, Ms Roberta Flack and her band, for concerts in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in Feburary 2009.

Don't miss the beautifully performed timeless signature tunes from one of the most significant and celebrated artists, Ms Roberta Flack, on this very special tour with her band.

The only female recipient of consecutive Song of the Year Grammy Awards, Roberta received her first triple Grammies in 1973 for Song and Record of the Year with The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Best Pop Vocal by a Duo for Where Is The Love (duet with Donny Hathaway). Roberta earned another three Grammies in 1974 for Record and Song of the Year and Best Pop Vocal by a Female for Killing Me Softly With His Song.

Her sophisticated banquet of romantic classic hits also includes Feel Like Makin' Love, Where is the Love, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, The Closer I Get To You, Tonite I Celebrate My Love, Trade Winds, Don't Make Me Wait Too Long, Only Heaven Can Wait, Oasis, 'Til The Morning Comes, And So It Goes, Back Together Again, Jesse, You Are My Heaven and Set The Night To Music.

She is an outspoken advocate for artists' rights and a passionate believer in inspiration as a catalyst for education. The Roberta Flack School of Music offers disadvantaged young people from the Bronx, opportunities to express themselves through creative experiences and accepts students at no cost. It is just one of the many 'hands on' projects where Roberta gives back and is entirely funded by donations.

Roberta shows no signs of slowing down her touring schedule having performed in Turkey, Argentina, Japan and recently South Africa before heading to Australia and New Zealand in early 2009.

A nice cool sav blanc or pinot gris - but try not to have too much or it really might kill me - what a waste (of the wine AND me).

Losing my identity everyday kills me softly....knowing that one day I might not be here to see my children grow up kills me softly...spending those tender moments with your partner who makes you feel on top of the world...Everything about that song....But listening to 'The closer I get to you....is beautiful...

I heard she sang a good song,
I heard she had a style,
And so i listened to her CD for a while.
And there it was, this one song,
    A hit that endures on.
Strumming my ear drums with music
    Singing it into my life
Killing me softly with with her song,
Killing me softly, with her song
Telling me music is my life
Killing me softly, with her song

This song is so good that its
    been covered by a girl
    with rapping in between
    It made me wanna hurl
But then it came back to me
the sound of that great song.

.........etc etc etc (i'll give up now)

the look my teenage son gives us when out in public and he sees his friends, and quickly distances himself from the family and wards us off with 'the look' . Its kills me softly we used to be his heroes now he would rather we act like strangers in public!
