In Love With Kiri

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is coming to Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre for an exclusive performance on Valentine’s Day.

Accompanied by acclaimed pianist Terence Dennis, In Love with Kiri will feature a specially selected programme of romantic songs and arias that will delight music lovers.

This Wellington-only recital will also provide the unique opportunity to appreciate Dame Kiri’s vocal beauty in this most intimate of presentations.

Dame Kiri says “I am thrilled to be performing at the Michael Fowler Centre again. This will be my first-ever recital in Wellington and I am delighted to be performing at this special Valentine ’s Day concert.”

The event’s promoter Tim Beveridge says he is delighted that a change in Dame Kiri’s international concert schedule has created the rare opportunity to bring her to Wellington.

Also joining Dame Kiri for the occasion will be Wellington-born tenor Benjamin Makisi. A previous winner of the prestigious Sydney McDonald’s Aria, Makisi says he is honoured to be joining Dame Kiri for the occasion.

Tickets for this prestigious recital, which promises to be one of the highlights of the year, will go on public sale Wednesday 21 January 2009.
