From the underground to the higher-ground, Fat Freddy’s Drop is the South Pacific soul monster doing it for the love of music.
No two Freddy’s gigs are ever the same as the superheavyweight collective jam their distinctive hi-tek soul music; a genre defying fusion of roots, reggae, jazz, soul, dance, electronic & funk with a twist of R ‘n’ B, rock, country and off the hook dance moves from the horn section.
Led by the hot buttered voice of vocalist Joe Dukie, Freddy’s have won over sell-out crowds at home, in London, Paris, Berlin, Lisbon and Sydney and graced the stage at the Glastonbury Festival.
In-between tours, Freddy’s have been working on their studio tan, and the release of a new full-length album, BIG BW, is imminent. It’s been a while since the last official release, Based On A True Story in 2005, but given that album re-wrote musical history, expect more musique_électronique goodness from the Freddy’s. No preservatives, no colouring, no samples…just fresh as.
