Radio One started broadcasting the finest of the finest tunes to the airwaves all the way back in 1984. Back then Muldoon was 'thinking big' about the future, but he had no idea. Since then we've seen the introduction of the internet, EFTPOS, and pay television to name a few changes, and all this time, Radio One has churned out the sweet tunes in a trusty, can-do fashion. To celebrate their Silver anniversary, Radio One is throwing a huge party and have invited a very special guest in the form of Tiki!

Tiki embarked on his solo artist career in January 2007 after eleven years playing to the world primarily as the captivating frontman for successful band Salmonella Dub.

Representing Aotearoa New Zealand, Tiki has long-cemented the following of a diverse cross-section of people from all corners of the globe. Doubling as an audio engineer for some of the country's finest acts, Tiki has a solid reputation for boosting shows, musical works and recordings worldwide with his unique gift for taking music into an innovative new realm. Tiki released his critically acclaimed debut solo album "Past Present Future" in November 2007.

Joining Tiki will be Blackplanet (live). Blackplanet is Joe and Caleb, two brothers from the mountains of Queenstown performing break-beat/drum n' bass. Armed with an arsenal of synths, drum machines, samplers, and live vocalists, their show is always energetic and unpredictable. Blackplanet merge Drum n' Bass, Soul, Electro, Break-beat and Hip-hop and transform this sound into a high energy live experience which has helped them build a strong following and secure mainstage slots at NZ's bass heavy Phat fest, both in 08 and 09.

To top all this off local luminaries Woosh and Undertow, Soundclash featuring MC Beau, Future Sound of Dunedin, and Booof flesh out what is nothing short of an EPIC lineup!

To tie all these threads together, Radio One launch their space-age 2009 Onecard, the mother of all discounter cards, and the key which unlocks a mammoth of free goodness all year round. These cost $25 and are available at Cosmic Corner, OUSA reception (on campus), or from the Radio One office on the first floor of the OUSA building on Cumberland Street, and for one night only it will be available on the night to ensure your discounted entry to the gig.
