Pacific Entertainment presents multi-Grammy awarded jazz, soul and R&B legend, Ms Roberta Flack and her band, for concerts in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in Feburary 2009.

Don't miss the beautifully performed timeless signature tunes from one of the most significant and celebrated artists, Ms Roberta Flack, on this very special tour with her band.

The only female recipient of consecutive Song of the Year Grammy Awards, Roberta received her first triple Grammies in 1973 for Song and Record of the Year with The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Best Pop Vocal by a Duo for Where Is The Love (duet with Donny Hathaway). Roberta earned another three Grammies in 1974 for Record and Song of the Year and Best Pop Vocal by a Female for Killing Me Softly With His Song.

Her sophisticated banquet of romantic classic hits also includes Feel Like Makin' Love, Where is the Love, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, The Closer I Get To You, Tonite I Celebrate My Love, Trade Winds, Don't Make Me Wait Too Long, Only Heaven Can Wait, Oasis, 'Til The Morning Comes, And So It Goes, Back Together Again, Jesse, You Are My Heaven and Set The Night To Music.

She is an outspoken advocate for artists' rights and a passionate believer in inspiration as a catalyst for education. The Roberta Flack School of Music offers disadvantaged young people from the Bronx, opportunities to express themselves through creative experiences and accepts students at no cost. It is just one of the many 'hands on' projects where Roberta gives back and is entirely funded by donations.

Roberta shows no signs of slowing down her touring schedule having performed in Turkey, Argentina, Japan and recently South Africa before heading to Australia and New Zealand in early 2009.

What kills me softly is the way the music and lyrics some together to make this particular song one of the most evocative and representative of the whole era in which I grew up listening to such fine artists as Roberta Flack.

Jesse... the floors and the walls are calling your name... Yeah, I could go on. Killing me softly is just beautiful and with a few versions out there Ms Flack tops them all. Once it's been performed with such sincerity it kills me softly to listen to others give it a go.

What "kills me" is that Jesus loves me so much that He died on a cross for me and took away all my sin, so now I get to live with Him forever in Heaven! How awesome is that!

Killing me softly - means to me,
The feeling inside yourself when you touch the lover of your dreams. Releasing a surge of tiny bubbles, warm and fizzy within you. It just makes you glow and kills softly the lonely single feeling of before.

"The first time I saw your face" Roberta and heared your voice was like "Quiet fire " lighting up the night. You are an "Oasis" of soul from your "First take" to your School of Music for those children less fortune it.
I reminder those early albums that would just "killing me softly" because I was a white boy wanting to "feel like making love "with the music in the background....mermiors are free and I would like to SEE Roberta FREE TOO!!!!!!

A true legend.........Roberta Flack rose to the top at a time when it wasn't easy for black, female r&b/blues/jazz singers to do so!!! Thats why she's always been one of my 'inspiration' people...

Aged 15 in a dimly lit bedroom 'Killing me softly' did just that during all the angst of first crushes at school.
