Vintage Line Up For 2009 MORE FM Winery Tour

A hint of Dobbyn, a touch of Moa, with overtones of Opshop make for one beautiful bouquet as The MORE FM Winery Tour announces its 2009 line up.

Dave Dobbyn, Anika Moa and Opshop join the bill for the 2009 version of the annual MORE FM Winery Tour. With another sizzling summer on the horizon, this yearly mix of wine, music and stunning scenery will again provide a perfect day out throughout February.

New venues have also been added to the ‘09 run, with Sacred Hill in Napier, Sentry Hill Estate in New Plymouth and Millbrook Estate in Arrowtown joining the list of spectacular wineries and estates that host this unique summer experience.

Yet again, it’s another awesome lineup of music talent.

Dave Dobbyn has recently returned from the UK, armed with a new album, Anotherland, which is full of grace and soul. Dave will perform with his extended six-piece band as he plots a course through Anotherland – described as “an aural landscape of traditional, hook-laden Dobbyn songs with blues and gospel influences” – and voyages back into his vast catalogue of classic and iconic Kiwi songs. It’s Dobbyn, he’s a legend, how could we – and you - resist?

Anika Moa was the undeniable star of the ‘08 tour, so it wasn’t a hard decision to invite her back for a second run. Last time out, Moa wowed crowds with her charm, humour, bare feet and beautiful songs. Expect more top shelf performances, but also be ready for something a little different. If you’ve never seen Moa perform before, this is the perfect environment to experience the brilliance of this multi-platinum songstress. You will not be disappointed.

In the last two years Opshop has conquered all. Fronted by one of the best singers in the business, this band really needs no introduction right now. They have just won Tuis for most radio play (Maybe), Highest Selling Album (Second Hand Planet), Single of the Year (One Day) and also the APRA Silver Scroll for Song of the Year (One Day). They are the hottest band in the land and their Winery Tour performances are bound to be impassioned and memorable.

The annual MORE FM Winery Tour has quickly established itself as a highlight of the summer and 2009 promises to be no different.

The MORE FM Winery Tour opens on Waitangi Day, February 6 at Matakana’s Ascension Ascension Wine Estate and runs through to 1 March.

Tickets for the shows, and public transport, will be available from Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.co.nz). My Ticketmaster online sales will be open from 9am, November 3 through to 5pm November 9. Public Sales will open at 9am, November 10. For all other details, go to www.thewinerytour.co.nz.

We encourage families; children under the age of 12 accompanied with a parent or guardian will be given free entry.
