You can see the change in people around you as the ferry gets closer and closer to Waiheke. Stress melts away and the smiles come out. The trip over is a time to let the body and mind release, relax, and refocus

Spending the day at a wine festival is always an ideal day out, but the great thing about going to the Waiheke Wine Festival is that the fun starts when you get on the ferry, cos you really feel that youre getting out of Auckland and all your troubles are beind you. I absolutely love catching the ferry, it makes it feel more than just a day out, but that Im on holiday..

The ferry is an excellent place to "lose" that horrendously expensive pair of Prada sunglasses you purchased with your Christmas bonus 6 years ago, and which are now looking decidedly tired - providing you have insurance cover. I have a fabulous new pair that cost me a return ferry ticket to the magnificent island of Waiheke.

Such a great place to visit and the fun starts with the ferry trip. Even more exciting to go there and see where my Mother grew up in Blackpool.

The best part about boarding the ferry for Waiheke is it's like going on a mini overseas trip. You hop onboard the ferry for a day's treat in a micro-climate that's generally better than Auckland's. Everything is available for you, and someone else gets to do all the driving for a change.

The best thing is the minute you step aboard, the stress just melts away and you know you're in for a treat!

The best part about boarding the ferry for Waiheke is that the ferry building is right in the heart of Auckland City, the most busy and highly populated part, then the Ferry departs with the lucky few onboard and suddenly all the noise and crowding just drifts away, you are free from it all. Plus you are about to be transported to the delightful shores of Waiheke Island, this also adds to your ever growing feeling of serenity and contentment, I've always enjoyed the departure from Auckland the best.

It has to be walking on to the ferry, switching off from all the worries of the mainland, and just watching our beautiful country floating by. Then arriving at the this amazing place and always having a great time, with amazing scenery, amazing people and always amazing wine and music. Oh the beaches are pretty nice too :)

The best thing about ferrying to Waiheke island is that you leave all the stress in Auckland city and relax like your in Rarotonga, from the minute you step onto the ferry.

It is such a lovely change from driving, and the journey is over before you can blink. Standing on the top deck blowing out those cobwebs and breathing in the salty air is just bliss. Not to mention the slower paced island atmosphere, culinary delights, wine and beautiful beach walks that await you!

The best thing about going to Waiheke is that in such a short time and distance, you're miles away from your worries. Away from work, away from the busy city, and free to relax. To enjoy life the way we're suppose to - with sun, beach, a glass of wine, and friends to help us laugh the night away.

As we haven't been across to Waiheke before - boarding the ferry, looking for a great possie then watching all the happenings around you as you cruise across is the build up for the day's activities on the island. I can't wait.

Waiheke Island is a beautiful gem filled with culture and raw nature. The best thing about ferrying over there is simply to take a break away from the hectic city, enjoy the breeze in your hair as you relax on the top deck of the ferry and let our everyday worries be washed away!

the best thing about ferrying over to Waiheke island for the day is that the trip is an adventure in itself, beautiful scenery and new people to meet and when the ferry arrives I would see my mates from WI there to greet me to have a wonderful time together on exploring 1 of the many treasures of the island

A great day on Waiheke Is. would be swimming & lying in the sunshine on one of their pristine beaches and taking in the stunningly beautiful scenery that is the Hauraki Gulf. If time permitted, would also love to visit some of the famous Vineyards other people keep talking about. Attending the Wine and Food Festival would be an awesome bonus. Sounds like THE perfect day!

The best thing for me would be actually going to Waiheke for the first time ever, even after 5 years living in downtown Auckland I've yet to have the pleasure of visiting the famous island.....shame on me, but this festival would be agreat excuse to get over there at long last.
