Variety Academy Awards: CANCELLED

Variety – The Children’s Charity invites all entertainment enthusiasts to join the stars in celebrating the 81st Academy Awards, on Monday 23 February, at the Variety Academy Awards.

The annual charity event and entertainment industry highlight, held at the SKYCITY Theatre Auckland, kicks off at 12 noon with guests making a “movie star-like” red carpet entrance.

A live feed of the Academy Awards, direct from Los Angeles, is provided by Sky Television and projected onto the theatre screen, giving guests the closest experience to actually being at the Awards.

This year’s event is a revised version of the traditional long luncheon, where instead of being seated for the entire afternoon, guests will be able to move freely between the screening in the theatre and the entertainment on offer throughout the afternoon.

This annual event is not only a celebration of the Academy Awards, it is also about helping New Zealand children.

Tickets for the afternoon function are priced at $160 (inclusive of GST) per person. The ticket price includes a lunch, refreshments, entertainment and the live screening of the Awards throughout the afternoon.
