Connoisseurs of high-energy, swinging straight-ahead jazz should check out the London Bar on Friday nights to hear some of the best New Zealand jazz of this genre. Free admission!
Award-winning saxophonist and New Zealander Roger Manins is a rarity, a true find in Australasian jazz. Regarded as "an outstandingly gifted musician, with a warmly passionate sound, remarkable instrumental ability and total musical integrity”, Manins is a blistering force in a new generation of wildly talented jazz supremos.
He is joined by the outstanding, spine-tingling trumpet and flugel horn of Pete Barwick, legendary pianist and composer Phil Broadhurst, New Zealands National Jazz treasure Frank Gibson on drums and the young and upcoming Tom Dennison on bass . Come to the London Bar and hear top quality Jazz in little old New Zealand!! Great beers on tap - casual atmosphere and the friendliest bar staff in town.
