If you love the music of the 60's and 70's you'll love Naomi's show. Based on a true story Naomi is accompanied by New Zealand's finest finger style guitarist Graham Wardrop and piano superman Murray Wood.
It's 1972 - a teenage girl leaves home and moves to Wellington to study. Determined to escape her sheltered and privileged upbringing and let her hair down she slides uncritically and deliciously through a misspent year of free-thinking, hippies and experiments, the excesses of the seventies: drugs, protest songs, motorbikes, music festivals, falling in love and heartbreak.
Featuring some of the best songs of the 60's & 70's including Ruby Tuesday, Winter Lady, Rainy Day Women, Make It With You, Long About Now, Suzanne, One Too Many Mornings, It's All Over Now Baby Blue, Hey That's No Way To Say Goodbye and Restless Farewell it is the journey of growing up dangerously.
Naomi Ferguson has been performing and writing professionally for fourteen years. She has released two albums, her self-titled debut produced by Malcolm McNeill (2005) and 'Don't Think Twice' with Graham Wardrop (2009). Her numerous stage roles include Gloria in Brassed Off!, Julie in COSI and Grizabella in CATS. Her many singing appearances include Christchurch Jazz Festival, Canterbury Folk Festival and Christchurch Cabaret Festival. TV appearances include TV 2's What Now? and TV3 - Big Night In.
"Ferguson has that rare ability to wrap you up in her songs and, caressing every syllable, tell her story with directness and warmth." The Christchurch Press
