Celebrate 2010

Palmerston North is putting on yet another fantastic and exciting New Year’s Eve Celebration. If you want total fun and a chance to laugh, smile, dance and sing the night away this is the place for you. Also! - Be there to win some great prizes.

Your hosts for the night are from our local MoreFM afternoon show and they have some very special entertainment of their own lined up for you, never a dull moment! The night will start with lots of family fun filled entertainment, both on and off the stage. The nationally acclaimed Funky Monkeys with their boundless energy combined with an awesome understanding of kids makes the Funky Monkeys a truly unique act and a wonderful performance to help us "Celebrate 2010". They are followed by our very own Kiwibops dressed in fluorescent clothing and with their singing voices blending in bright melodies and harmonies will be a hit with children. Stage Struck Productions will "wow" us with a “Superhero theme” so kids come to see if your superhero is here in Palmy at New Year! All this family excitement will be topped with our kids very own New Year Countdown at around 8.30pm.

The latter part of the evening will kick off with Ainslie Allen and the Jetz. These are hot singing, dancing and revue type performers who will present a fast paced act that will bring back memories from the past as well as today's latest hit numbers. The Jetz will be followed by Revolver – Beatles Tribute Band. Revolver will provide a rare opportunity for Beatles fans to revisit the timeless quality of the legendary Fab 4. The show will appeal to all ages and will soon have even the most timid of you twisting and shouting!!! It's not finished yet, still to come are Deaf Lemon a high energy New Zealand band performing songs that span several decades and will appeal to a wide range of audiences. And finally . . . to top the night, the decade of misplaced fashion; The 1980's, fully costumed and choreographed returning to Palmerston North by popular demand all the way from Wellington is THAT 80'S BAND, a high-energy fun show not to be missed.

At Midnight to "Celebrate 2010" Kiss and cuddle your loved ones and watch a spectacular firework display erupt in the sky over Palmerston North.

Please remember that this event is for all the family and is alcohol free. There will be a 'chair free zone' in place for those who get there early and just want to hang out on a blanket.
