What happens when you bring together 7-time Emmy nominee Jason Alexander with a veritable who’s who of award-winning comics and throw in a Seinfeld Q & A? A night of hilarious stand-
up and improvisational comedy we like to call Jason Alexander’s Comedy Spectacular!
Nine seasons as hapless shlep George Costanza on NBC’s ‘Seinfeld’ was a high point in a career on stage, screen and television. For his portrayal of George, Alexander earned six Emmy and four Golden Globe nominations, an American Television Award and two American Comedy Awards for ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series’. The Screen Actors Guild went one step higher and knighted him ‘Best Actor in a Comedy Series’, despite his role as a supporting actor.
Recently he has spent more time behind television cameras than in front of them, having directed multiple episodes of Cheryl Hine’s “Campus Ladies” and the Chris Rock biographical series “Everybody Hates Chris”. However, he starred in two, short lived series – “Bob Patterson” and “Listen Up” and has guested on “Friends”, “Monk” and “...Old Christine”. Alexander’s most memorable film roles include Richard Gere’s villainous lawyer in “Pretty Woman”, Jack Black’s hilarious sidekick in “Shallow Hal” and his critically praised dramatic work in the Pulitzer prize winning, “Love, Valor, Compassion”. Alexander’s voice has become equally famous in animated features and television series including ‘Duckman’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘The Return of Jafar’ and ‘Hercules’ as well as Hugo the gargoyle in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Jason is also an accomplished producer and director, including Executive Producer on the “Agent Cody Banks” movies.
A lover of theatre, Alexander has also starred on Broadway in a number of productions including Neil Simon’s “Broadway Bound”, Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” and the award winning “Jerome Robbin’s Broadway” which he authored and starred in and for which he won the coveted Tony Award as Best Actor in a Musical. In Los Angeles, he co-starred in the acclaimed production of Mel Brook’s “The Producers” with his friend, Martin Short.
Alexander resides in LA where he is the Artistic Director of The Reprise Theatre Company and he continues to run his production company, AngelArk Entertainment.
