Central Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force

Performing a rare Wellington concert at St Andrews on the Terrace, the acclaimed Central Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will showcase the talent of its young guns alongside the power and nuance of the full band. This concert will be held at 6.30pm on Sunday 16th August.

The Central Band is unique in that it has members who are the top young musicians in New Zealand and are studying performance music at the New Zealand School of Music. Many of these musicians play in national level ensembles are our next professional musicians in both the jazz and classical fields.

This is a rare opportunity for Wellingtonian’s to hear the biggest symphonic band in New Zealand perform to the level which has generated acclaim from audiences around the country. Music will cover a range of genres from symphonic band repertoire through to classical and brass band standards, as well as letting the featured soloists showcase their wares.

“Prices have been kept affordable for what will be an enlightening and entertaining concert” said the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s Director of Music, Squadron Leader Owen Clarke.
