29 August – 19 September Mt Ruapehu District.
25 Gigs – 3 weeks of madness

Geez it seems like only a couple of days ago that I was hanging at the skate ramp in the Junction enjoying a few rays without a care in the world. Ol father time aye he sneaks up on ya and next thing you know it won’t stop snowing in May. The early opening has certainly whetted the appetite for more than a few people. Bring on the turns. Fallout has come together really well and there is a schedule chock full of goodies that should have something to satisfy even the most discerning of tastes. Old favourites like Aural Trash, Classic Comedy and the Picnic are back as well as some genuine party styles from the likes of Liquid Recreation (Jess and Emma) and Grant Marshall. Watch out for the live tip too with The Juice TV train from Wellington and Auckland! It is going to blow the Kune party scene to shreds. Juice TV have a wicked weekend lined up so hit their website and get you and your mates sorted cause it’s going to be mean. One to watch out for is Trei who will be touring New Zealand promoting his debut album “Innuendo” which is taking the Drum n Bass world by storm. Early reports from Europe suggest he is the next big thing in that scene. The quirky esoteric sounds of The Inverts hit town for a live experience that should be second to none. Inventive is one way to describe their sound, boring is not! The Fallout Festival short movie competition essentially mimics the 48hr film comp but is held for 3 weeks to allow all teams plenty of time to get their creative juices flowing and to make sure they finish their project on time. Rumour has it that Ant Timpson from the 48 hr Film Fest will be in town to judge it. So hit the website and get your accommodation sorted early, this is one party you do not want to miss.
