Brian Scadden has worked in film since 1976 and currently works for Park Road Post, a post production company that worked on Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong. He began experimenting with the Victorian wet-plate photographic process in the 1980s and still works with the process today. In 1998 he built a small portable darkroom styled on a 19th century photographer’s cart, which he uses to travel the country doing demonstrations of the wet-plate process.
This event is part of the 'Fixated: Photography Through History' exhibition at Puke Ariki (31 July – 26 October 2009).
