The World Premier

Fri 14th – Sat 29th August 2009

Directed by: Val Franklin A Comedy Written by: Peter Franklin

“Henpecked me? Nah never!” Yeah Right!!

Is a Blokes’ logic and particularly his understanding of married life so different from that of ‘The Wife’ ‘The Little Woman’?

We get fleeting insight into these fascinating topics and many others when we enter the sanctity of Fred’s’ garage and eavesdrop on four of the ‘species’ known as ‘Bloke’.

Behind the closed roller door, a bit like the mystery surrounding Free Masonry, some Bloke ‘secrets’ are exposed. Albeit somewhat less ceremoniously.

Fred and Graham have been friends for a long time ‘Good mates’ but with conflicting opinions on life. Paul has known the other two almost as long. He recently became divorced from Brenda his wife of many years and mother of his children. Paul is very bitter despite his present conjugal situation!! These three friends are determined to educate Alex, the much younger and inexperienced member of the gang, about that winding and often torturous journey he has just begun through ‘married life’.

The ‘Blokes’ touch on a wide range of subjects some of which are ‘not always in the very best of good taste’, but nevertheless in the words of a top ‘Bloke’ Mr Frank Sinatra “That’s Life”.
