This festival at St. Peter's Cathedral, Hamilton is a 4-concert series of music inspired by or based on sacred texts. The first concert is a programme of 18th century chamber music from Kowhai Baroque (Jessica Shaw, recorders; Graham McPhail, violin; Polly Sussex, viola da gamba; Rachael Griffiths-Hughes, harpsichord) with soprano Rowena Simpson. On the Saturday at 12noon Cathedral organist Anne Cleaver presents "Toccatas and Trumpets" a festive programme of all your favourite organ music. "The Buxtehude Group" a 12-voice vocal ensemble directed by David Griffiths presents motets by Bach, Bruckner and Mendelssohn on the Saturday evening, and the final feature concert on the Sunday afternoon is "The best of British" by highly acclaimed Auckland choir Musica Sacra. All are invited to high tea following this concert.
