Woodhill Forest Orienteering Event

Walk, Jog, Run, - you set the pace. Suitable for all ages.

Orienteering is a challenging outdoor adventure sport that excercises both the mind and body.

The aim is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old, or fit you are, as you can run, walk, or jog the course and progress at your own pace.

Orienteering can take place anywhere from remote forest and countryside to urban parks and school playgrounds. It's a great sport for runners, joggers, and walkers who want to improve their navigation skills or for anyone who loves the outdoors.

Start Times:
Start any time between 10:00am and 12:30pm. Courses close 2:30pm, so come early if you would like to do more than one course (at no extra charge) or spend longer out on courses.

New to orienteering in Forest?
Come and have a go! We recommend you wear your walking/running gear and bring a compass and whistle if you have one. Compasses to help orientate the map are available for loan at no cost. Whistles are for sale at $2 each. Help is available at the registration campomatic, so please ask us for some help or advice getting started or how to become a member of AOC.

Directions:
From Auckland City take North Western motorway. At the end of the NW motorway, turn left to follow SH16 to Kumeu. Continue aprox 12.7km along SH16 and turn left into Restall Rd - Forest HQ. Event will be signposted from Restall Road.

Student - Member $6 Non-Member $8
Family - Member $24 Non-Member $32

Sport ident is required to participate in the event. If you do not have a sport ident chip the hire cost is $3.
