This concert features a juxtaposition of New Zealand music and the ever popular Vivaldi Gloria. A new work from Deputy Music Director David Hamilton, written to mark Haydn’s 200th anniversary, will begin this free concert. Helen Fisher’s evocative work for flute and women’s choir will feature our music director Uwe Grodd as solo flautist. The concert finishes with Vivaldi’s Gloria, one of the most popular choral works of all time, full of infectious rhythms, beautiful melodies and stirring choruses.
