What do you get when raw talent meets youth and beauty?

The unique sound and style of a young twenty-ish Welsh songstress by the name of Amy Duffy, or just plain Duffy as the world is coming to know and love her.

Blessed with a striking vocal range and an undeniable presence, this pocket-sized Welsh diva is bringing her phenomenal, distinctive voice and band to New Zealand in March/April 2009 for three very special shows.

Duffy first seeped into our consciousness earlier this year with the rhythmic grace of ‘Mercy,’ the first single from her classic retro-soul influenced album Rockferry.

This stunning debut effort achieved one million album sales in six short weeks after release and made the number 1 spot in 11 countries - including New Zealand where sales have now exceeded double platinum. Written and recorded with the help of former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, Rockferry also boasts the emotionally soulful ballad, ‘Warwick Avenue.’

Blue-eyed soul does not come any better than this.

Don’t miss Duffy, live.

I'm extremely merciful to all other evenfinder members - I don't have my picture on my profile! :-)

I love bringing a smile to the face of elderly and lonely people. I cut flowers from my garden and leave them on doorsteps of people who live alone in my mother's apartment block. She says they are so delighted at the surprise and keep wondering who does it.

18 months ago I had just split from my wife and was feeling low but I decided that there is always someone worse off than yourself. I chose to spend Christmas Day at the City mission. I Mercifully served food all day. I know several people who would like to see the show but can't afford it so I would take one of them.

I would feel you would take MERCY on the old roadie who won tickets to Dave and Op shop and court a cold so had to give them away as it was rainning and I wasnt able to go.But if I won the Duffy ticket I would ask my daughter to be mercful and,fly home for the first time since Xmas to go out togeather to the show, with her dad.

I'm merciful to bugs and spiders. I hate to kill snails and most of the time I just leave them be. A couple years ago I almost pushed someone over trying to stop them from killing a snail... Worms too, when I was a little kid I wouldn't go outside when it was raining because I didn't want to accidentally step on a worm and hurt it. The other day I spent a good half hour trying to get a spider on a piece of paper so I could put it outside, it would have been far easier to just kill it but I think they have a right to live as much as we do.

I feel mercy for my beautiful wife because she loves Duffy, and being pregnant has been very hard on her, and this would just make her day going to see Duffy live in concert.

I'm being merciful to this little kitten that has adpoted us, the owner has been a few times for it but it keeps coming back (I think they have given up coming back for it). I'm letting it stay even though it is terrorising my cat of 20 years, but I don't have the heart to put it out side when it's so small and it's been raining...and I'm the one who said we weren't getting any more pets!

I'm merciful to my children because even though they are between 7 and 9 I still do their dishes and cook their dinners and only yell at them when I'm really mad - I think I'm one of the more merciful (or gullible) mums around :-)
