The Light Eurythmy Ensemble (Switzerland) and Threshold Theatre (NZ) with pianist David Guerin present: Stories My Grandmother Told Me.
In this eurythmy performance for children a lady recalls Waitaha and Maori stories her grandmother told her. During the musical interludes the grandmother herself appears to tell us directly about the creation of the world, how the star cluster Matariki (Pleiades) came about, and why Pukeko came to live in the wetlands.
This is a dance programme with a difference and will delight both young and old. The aim of eurythmy is to speak and sing through movements and gestures that reveal to the eye what language and music bring to the ear.
Running time: 50 minutes
