Angry at their own Fairytales for locking them out of Fairytale Idol, the villains, led by the Ugly Stepsisters, kidnap the Fairy Godmother to create their own dark fairytale, where evil always wins. Racing against the last stroke of midnight, Pinocchio, Snow White, Prince Charming and all the gang must rescue the Fairy Godmother or there will never be another Happy Ever After!
An Easter treat for all the family, Fairytale the Musical features an exceptional young cast rip-roaring their way through the adventure. Little Red Riding Hood shows what she is made of, at least one of Snow White's little men gets himself into a spot of bother - and as for the Pied Piper and Puss in Boots. Hmmm. Well that ends up as a cunning 'cat-boot' thing.
Catchy, handclapping, footstomping songs will have you humming the tunes long after the show is over. From the Fairy Godmother and Dusty's Fairy Fun, to Kissy, Kissy Frog, there is a whole barrel of songs to choose from. Accompanied live by the Fairytale Band (who'd have thought that the Beast, the Dwarf and the Wolf could make such beautiful music together), the princesses sing, non-princesses sing, the frog sings and dances, the Pied Piper plays a mean clarinet and as for the FGM - well of course it's just not over until the Fat Lady sings...
All the songs have been written for the show by talented musician and composer Robyn Goudge with the story, words and direction by Geoff Allen.
Staged by Devonport Drama, Fairytale the Musical is a great Easter treat for all the family with matinee and evening performances throughout its week-long run.
