We are The Volunteers. An all original 7 piece team, with 3 doo-wop girls pumping out the harmonies. Mixing blues, rock 'n' roll, funk and soul, and just a touch of finger popping jazz we are bringing our sound north then south, touring our newly released album Friends, Family and Fools.
George and Queenstarted as a two-piece, comprised of songwriting duo Immi Paterson and Neil Newton, who met while pursuing Contemporary Music degrees at the University Of Otago. They moved from Dunedin to Auckland in early 2004 and put together their own studio. In 2007 they released their debut album City on their own label, Gone Quiet Records.
The band is now a four-piece, with the addition of Richard Pharaoh on drums and Panduka Samaringhe on bass. In September 2008 they released their second album The Wind is Up.
About The Wicks: Auckland-based surf-pop, folk four piece formed in 2006.
From the band: "A constantly changing and mutating style makes us hard to pin down to a specific genre...."
Come join in the party and moove to the groove... as they say.
