5 Star Comedy Preview 09

Why not kick off the 2009 NZ International Comedy Festival with a taste of things to come. Six international comedy stars packed in to a 2 hour show on Thursday 30 April , sharpening their wits for the big Comedy Gala on Friday.

After seven sell out years (2002 to 2008), the 5 Star Comedy Preview has proven to be a real crowd pleaser as well as the ideal way to sample some of the laughs that will be the highlight of the 3 week festival in Auckland, Wellington and beyond.

The line up for the 5 STAR COMEDY PREVIEW in 2009 includes the return of two festival favourites as well as four fresh faces.

The show will be hosted by Jason Cook whose ‘My Confessions’ show brought tears to the eyes of audiences at The Classic in 2008 and was voted ‘Best International Show’. Jason returns in 2009 with his acclaimed follow up show, ‘Joy’

Scotland’s female Billy Connolly, Janey Godley, already a favourite at the NZ Festival is back in 2009 and will appear in her first 5 Star Preview as well as playing a 2 week season at The Classic with her new show Domestic Godley.

Fresh faces at this years festival and also appearing in the 5 Star Preview are Carey Marx and Dan Nightingale from England, Lindsay Webb from Australia, and Canadian Glenn Wool who last appeared at the New Zealand Festival 5 years ago.
