The exhibition will be on at the same time as the annual Expertise Events Craft and Quilt fair from Australia.
Entry to the exhibition will be via the Crafts and Quilt Fair from Thursday to Sunday, with free entry on Monday and Tuesday.
Yanny Split, fibre artist extraordinaire, is selecting for the exhibition, and will also lead the team hanging the exhibition. There will be a display of Yanny’s fascinating work in the exhibition along with a display from Leigh Morris, renowned kumihimo braider and recipient of the 2007 George Mason scholarship. The look of the exhibition will be by Raglan designer, David Foley.
Pieces will be submitted by New Zealand Creative Fibre members from home and abroad, and will cover different fibre mediums such as felting, knitting, weaving, spinning, crochet, flax weaving, embroidery, paper art, and much more.
Visitors will be treated to a large range of beautiful, stunning and inspiring items on display, many of which will be available for purchase.
Due to the national significance of the event, most of the pieces will be travelling to Christchurch and Invercargill in October and November to enable South Island residents to view the exhibition.
